New Patio System

Recently we introduced a new model into our range of aquaponics systems. The Patio System comes in a range of 43 different colours, it's a highly productive little system that can fit into the smallest of spaces. Check out our specials in the shop section.

This patio system is the culmination of years of aquaponics research, it's been carefully designed with a number of special features to improve both the fish growth as well as the plant production. The system was designed in conjunction with one of the worlds leading innovative roto-moulders who specialises in foam skin roto-moulding. This has given us a unique chance to combine our skills to produce a new model with as many benefits as possible into a single aquaponics growing unit.

Triple Insulating Super Strong Structure The systems have a super tough structure made from a triple layering process in the manufacturing of the systems. The outer tough layer of food grade UV resistant HDPE (High Density Poly Ethylene) is the first stage of manufacture. The second foam layer is a special process that foams up the HDPE plastic, creating an exceptionally strong structure made from millions of bubbles. Then the third layer is added in the final process, this bonds the same outside colour to the inside creating a protective coating over the foam layer and locking in the third layer of strength into the structure.

This triple bonding process creates a lightweight extremely strong structure that not only looks geat, but it's extremely wear resistant. In fact these systems are so strong and UV resistant that we back them with a 12 year warranty. Thats right, a full 12 years warranty on all materials except the pump which is covered by normal manufacturors warranty of 2 years. We have high standards when it comes to putting our name to a product and this compact unit has exceeded our expectations in our trials.

Food Safe Products

The plastics used in the manufacture of these systems as well as all of our tanks and grow beds, is food safe high density polyethylene, this plastic is specifically manufactured for the purposes of holding food stuffs. The exact same HDPE is used in rainwater tanks and many food storage containers including plastic milk bottles. The foaming process involved in the middle layer of these systems uses bicarbonate of soda, another food grade product so you can be sure that these systems are safe.

We have trialed these systems with a number of different fish species, goldfish and koi are always a popular choice, but this compact unit can also grow some serious edible fish, the size of the system is designed to comfortably hold 8-10 fully grown fish such as trout, and will grow them out to plate size or around 500g.

Accessories

Once your system is installed and starting to produce abundant fresh produce you'll want to make the most of the production capabilities of your system. We have a rugged solid steel trellis that has been custom made to be used with the patio system. Fitting a trellis to your system expands the growing area that you have available and increases production.
