The clear plastic siphon will end up covered in algae and the Ikea shelf wont last long out in the weather once it starts getting wet...

I am planning to switch out the shelf and use cinder blocks and planks of wood.

As for the clear bell siphon, I’ve added a plastic opaque cover on the top to shield the siphon from light. A little big of algae did form around the siphon, but I hope the plastic cover will stop it from growing any further.
