Hello everyone,
.
These are the plans for a micro aquaponics system that we have had up and running for 18 months now and it is going really well. We wanted to share the plans with as wide an audience as possible so that anybody could put together their own small, cheap aquaponics system just to get a feel for how it works.
.
Please feel free to take a look at what we have done, and if anyone has any feedback or questions then we would be very happy to answer. I am sure that all aquapons share the passion to promote and develop aquaponics, and to convert just about everyone they know to aquaponics... so hopefully an easy little DIY project like this one can be a great starter... and one that kids can easily help with.

.... It is a good idea, just need to check how much water would be coming out of the tank.... But if you ran it as a constant flood system you could combine two units and maybe get up to 3 levels if you popped a few LED lights in there too.

What a great idea, thank you for sharing . First thing I thought of is how that would be good for a school, might get my son to help build one.

It is funny you should say that, but we designed this specifically for schools initially and we have sent some up to schools in northern Japan where they were most affected by last years earthquake. Afterwards though a few people asked about using them in their homes and so we thought that would be a good idea too. Hope you and your son have fun making one.... I put them together with my little daughter and it is a nice afternoon together.
