What is the best way to replant seedlings into a growbed of hydroton? Thanks!

I drop the seedlings into a bucket containing diluted Seasol (a sea weed extract), gently wash off the soil (and any fertilizer), then put them straight into the growbed media.
With small seedlings, ensure the GB fill level is high enough to wet the seedling roots at each cycle.
I adjust the level up to start and down a few weeks later, which helps to encourage the roots to grow down.

I've been known to simply take the seedling out of the pot or container and simply plant it into the growbed media as if it were ground. If the compost the seedling was started in is free of chemicals and fertilizers and the system is not being pushed to it's solids handling limit, it seems to work ok in my system.

I did a few like that but found they rotted/didn't do so well,
since I am 24/7 flooding
Prolly different for flood and drainers

I mostly grow from seeds but with lings I wash and chuck in the GB.

If the seedling was started in soil/dirt, try to dust off as much soil as you can. I would tend to think the soil would retain water much more than hydroton/gravel and cause root rot by not letting enough oxygen get in. Try not to handle the roots.
