The ones I got from tooperang trout farm were $0.70 each, and about that size.

I think they are unusually cheap though.

I think you pay for the extra service of direct delivery. Worth it for some. I would prefer to take the kids to the trout farm to see where they come from. Having said that, I bought one catfish from a guy in slandering ham for $10 because I wanted just one, and did not wAnt to go all the way to glenburn for one. Secondary market could be quite lucrative to the right clientelle(city folk like us)

Its cheap compared to Sydney, I didn't realize there were so many sources for trout fingerlings around Melbourne, lucky for you guys !

8 beds, each over 3sqm giving over 30sqm of growing space? Unless they are closer to 4sqm each that ain't over 30sqm.

The beds look like they need more reinforcement too.
