Stuart can you share some informations about this small scale farmers, like web pages, books, FB pages etc.

Are they making a living with it? Like 100% or they just do it part time?

The best example is Jonai Farms run by Stuart and Tammi Jonas.

Thanks Suart!

Do you know some that focus on vegetable production as well?

I know a lot more but they are not as open about their finances as Tammi so you don't know whether they are making their money from workshops and the like or actual food production. Tammi and Fraser (see below) keep separate books for their educational income earning activities. Separate from their farming business.

I know of a bunch but can't find them right now.

The Exception is Fraser of Old Mill Row Organic Farm.

http://oldmillroad.com.au/

I don't know him well but everything I've heard about him from people I do know is good. Sarah (my Wife) worked with him and Tammi to organise the Deepwinter Agrarian Gathering last year. This event ended up being over 150 small scale farmers, aspiring farmers, food distributors supporting small scale farmers and related peoples.

Hi Everyone,
I just made a post, but I'm new here, so I don;t know if it will be up yet or not.
We have an established aquaponics farm for sale in Western Australia, all it needs now is a good operator. Stuart, I glanced over this thread quickly but I might have missed some things, I hope you're going well and if you were interested we'd be happy to talk. this farm has been around for a long time, but was established a bit before its time, probably before this forum existed.
It has been sitting mostly dormant for some years now and needs some work, but is mostly ready, and all the pumps are in working order, council approval is there and there are two water licenses. could be a good opportunity for anyone interested.

As always I'd appreciate feedback. Particularly on the how the post and survey at the end might be to get some more action.

Wow, what an awesome post Stuart. I really appreciate all the info and insights. It's been a long journey for you and I really hope you can get Fish Farmers off the ground. I think it would be great.
Martin.

Incredible work, heartfelt ups and downs. Thank you for sharing Stuart. I don't know how you go on, but I'm glad you do. That sounds like an amazing project. It's been a long time since I read Don Quixote, but I see some parallels. It's a good effort.

I think that is meant to be a compliment.

Can't say I appreciate the comparison though :?
