Hi all

So I have a 200 gallons aquarium with 30 African Cichlids. Because the fish that I am keeping requires a high ph at above 7.8 (currently at 8.3), I won't be able to use it to grow the plant. So I have another 50 gallons tank where I will fill the waste water from the 200g tank during a water change. I plan to drop some acid to lower the ph to use for the plant. I dont want to introduce any new fish to the 50g. I simply just want to the water from my main tank and lower the ph. I usually do 30 gallons water changes every week, so would hate to waste the water....

You think this will work? Thanks!

Yes it should work. You may want to check your aquarium water nitrate levels just to get an idea of what's there.
