Very new to this forum. I live in Windcrest (San Antonio) Texas. Currently gathering parts for backyard system. I have 100 gallon Rubbermaid tank, 4 rubbermaid containers for grow beds, several submersible water pumps, a couple of air pumps, and lots of 1 1/2" pvc. I'd like to get to meet with you guys who live nearby for talking and moral support. email me at thewindyworm@satx.rr.com.

You are right down the road from me. I'm in Converse near the Kitty Hawk and Toepperwein intersection. Good luck with the system!

Wow, we are all pretty close 8)

Perhaps we need a Saturday get together to discuss AP and enjoy a Shiner together.

Thorn and Daddykirbs, thanks for the reply. Sounds like we are definitely close enough to share a cold one. I'll buy the first round to look at what you all are doing, while I'm still in the planning and gathering stages. Just tell me where and when to deliver the refreshments.

Count me in, just give me a few hours notice.
I'm just a little past the Buc-Ee's on I-10.
OK, well maybe a lot past the Buc-Ee's... and quite a bit off I-10...

Anyway, I'll bring the second round. I'm still a newbie, just got the plumbing hooked up to my first Rubbermaid stock tank!

Rick

I'll be there in spirit...;) I'm way to far north up 45 to actually head over that way for a beer.

Buckey's is a good stopping point when heading to Victoria...clean bathrooms and Jerky is not to bad. The New Brauffles smokehouse has the best Jerky IMO - second only to my own... :headbang:

Hi all you fellow Texans. I am just getting started in aquaponics. I live about 2 miles East of Elgin which is 25 miles East of Austin. I have had a small test system running for several months. This week I am starting my for real system. I started a topic about it here: http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=8401

I have really appreciated all the shared knowledge on this forum.

Has anybody seen the "Industrial Farm" (or some such name) outfit on the northern outskirts of Hempstead?
I can't remember whether it was on Hwy 6 or 290. And I didn't stop to see if the AP-looking growbeds were indeed tied into a fish tank, or just irrigated. Can't find anything on it on the Web.

Lotsa solar panels along the east side of the highway, is what you see first...

Rick
