I have been reading and study aquaponics for few years now, I was ready to start a build but found out that my home owners association doesn't allow editable plants or fish to be grown.

I will probably end up selling that house and moving to a new location.

I would love to see a working aquaponics systems if anyone wouldn't mind me taking a look.

Please let me know if you don't mind having a discussion or maybe let me see a working system.

Steven

Hope that is an open invitation. We have been thinking about putting in a system but aren't quite sure how to go about it. We live in Live Oak/Watson (North Denham Springs). So not far from you at all.

Has anyone here found a good source for food grade IBC totes?

Born and raised in the walker area, and still here. . . actually every time I move off this street I end up back on it. but anyway just wanted to pop in and say here to the roll call and such.

Cory83 - check out "Cajun Swap Shop" on Facebook. There are a few guys that sell them often on there. I've picked up a few from a guy for $50 each.

HEllo everyone, Carman here. Im in Ocean Springs, MS. Im new to the aquaponics thing and I am in search of people that are near me that I can meet with to bounce ideas off of and possibly learn from. Heres my system.

220 gal IBC gravity drain from bottom valve up to 2 swirl filters draining to a 30 gal bio filter. From there a 1500 gph pond pump returns h2o to IBC and also to 4, half drums. 3/4" bell ciphon drain to 2" return to a 55 gal sump that returns back to bio filter.

The biggest problem Ive had is producing tomatoes. 2" stalk bases plants 12-15' tall healthy lookin blooms out the wazoo but never any maters. PH 6.4-6.8, all other perameters, amm, nitra, nitri, all gtg. I use a RODI filter for topoffs from city water that was 8.2 ph. Crazy high.

Ive already planted my fall veggies and have tons of sprouts. Im hopeful.

There is a meat company in Baton Rouge that usually sells them for $40 - $60 each.
I think it is Manda Meats. I can look up the number if you can't find it.

I've just finished putting in my winter lettuce's and etc.

I harvested all of my perch and want to try something new.

Does anyone know of a good source for Catfish in the South Louisiana / South Mississippi area?

Most of the ones I've checked on, are not really interested in selling me a few.
They want to sell thousands and I'm looking for 50.

Thanks
