Hello Rickus :wave1:
Welcome
On greenhouse can not help. Still planning mine
Is bass local in your area?. I know it gets gets cold in the FS. From what I could find out bass needs temp from 24 - 30ºC to reach optimal growth. Also they are some critters that like to feast on the same species if confined.
Maybe find out from someone in the same climate as yourself to find out about best fish to use.
"Kurper" seems to be a popular choice, they are almost bulletproof.
Just my 2 sents worth.
Hope all goes well with the build.

Hey Rickus,
Ja 'n Bass is mos 'n woes ding as hy verveeld raak.
I use Tilapia (Kurper) just a red hybrid I found on gumtree.
You will need to get the water heated, Solar is an option and there are plenty cool DIY designs that can be done very simply. Like join 2 rolls of black irrigation pipe in the sun and use a tee off your pump to move the water slowly though it. to a few more ingewikkelde ideas.
I use a heater but you have to hoes for the extra electricity.
If you like DIY, google geodesic domes that should wet your appetite for a project

True yes. Trout is only for next winter. Will start of with some gold fish and if they don't die some tilapia (if I can source them).

Is anyone stocking something funny like crayfish/prawns or mussels? Any permits needed for these or trout or tilapia in Gauteng?

I would love that but most of that stuff is jailbait here.
Nature conservation will rip you a new one.
That said, how would they even know there are probably only 2 inspectors for the province and they don't work very hard.

Hi Everyone,

Just a note that we're in Johannesburg. We've built a system and will be posting photos in the coming days. Progress is slow, and I think we've ironed out most of our issues so far.
