Looks awesome. Love free fish tanks too. It may be me being neurotic, but those concrete blocks sitting sideways are your weak point in the foundation under the barrels. They break really easy when they're set like that. Best strength from a cinder block is with the holes facing vertically.

They were sitting vertically, just me messing around I guess. Currently no water or media in them. Just did a few test runs. Going to make some changes in that area anyway.
I have a left over ball valve and I am thinking about putting it in there. So I can isolate and use only one half drum. Turn it on and use the other two when needed.
In the end I'll get some longer timber to take the weight better. Just proof of concept at the moment.

Thanks Boris. I put those same PVC ball-valves in to isolate filter barrels for cleaning individual drums. For some reason they get tight and difficult to turn for me with a sore wrist. I wish I'd been able to get my filter barrels up a little so I don't need to get om my knees to switch them on and off. You've got it much easier having yours up and exposed where you can reach the plumbing. Smart thinking/

Another isolation valve added. So I can do work on the radial flow filter or even the sump .

Yes you do get busy. Cool man. For me I think you are at one of the funnest stages right there setting systems up, seeing where water wants to go and how the flows work. What type of fish are you growing? I am getting to the point I already want another system to play with, so I have a touch of envy.

Just adding a simple fine particle filter to really clear up the water. Especially in the fish tank.. Need some better photos ! :)

Fish rated polyester.
