I use a small greenhouse too but no apace outside for fish tank so it is buried in the ground underneath the growbeds. I did have electrical run in. You can see pictures over at Amarillo TX startup if that is helpful

I would have thought it would be better to get the FT inside the greenhouse if possible - the thermal mass of water should help keep the greenhouse a little warmer at night.

I'm finding that it does in mine. The water temp is 74 deg F and the lowest the air temp in the greenhouse has gotten was 68, and that was on a night when the outside temps hit freezing. So far I have not used any heat in there other than the heat of the water itself

Greenhouse I know the fish Tank will be outside In a insulated workshop ,using Polycarbonate for the roof and one side for light, In side the Greenhouse the sump tank will be under one of the grow beds ,so hopefully the water from the sump tank will help to keep the greenhouse warm .I am also installing a Propane Gas heater In the Greenhouse the Gas heater Is fitted with a catalyst ,that gives out carbon dioxide good for plants ,once installed then develop the grow beds probably spring of next year   The sump Tank hopefully will keep the Greenhouse warm also make the sump tank large enough to create a fail safe system .looking on YouTube Rob bob has quite a good web site learnt quite a lot from him, also this web and others give a wealth of information

You are welcome for what it is worth. I also have a sump tank about half the size of my FT. I am currently using it to aerate top off water but I also plan to put an overflow tube in from the FT in case the power goes off and both grow beds drain. I'm thinking I can use it for a nursery for fingerlings until they get big enough to go into the FT as well. Not necessary yet as all I have in the FT so far are a dozen fingerling catfish. I'm taking baby steps here.

concerning Fish tanks the sump tank will live in the greenhouse under the grow beds, fish Tank will be by the G H using insulated workshop ,hopefully the sump tank will help to keep G H warm at night.Aquaponics syphon's arrived yesterday, hope to start building system next week ,have collected pipes and fittings over several weeks, best way to go not to rush any thing .Friend of mine will help to cut down I .B.Cs ,then insulate, add wooden sides then Paint for cosmetic effect.

I think you will be pleased with the ability of the heated water to keep your GH temp up. It is 37f this morning out there and the GH is 66f with no heat except the 74f water in the FT. I bought me a wireless thermometer intended for use with a swimming pool and I can check the water temp in the FT and the temp in the GH right here in my chair. I get the outside temp off an ap on my phone.

To day a friend of mine cut down the Topes ,stands arrive Wednesday .When cutting down Topes we oversized the dimensions ,quite a good Idea at least we can cut back on size ,rather than take to much off and have nothing to work with ,working out plans to build a cover for the F Making sure It Is well Insulated ,then get Electrics to Greenhouse, proving to be quite a lot of work ,but well worth It
