I suspect it could become an AP photo big plus. We all have raised beds that lend themselves to horizontal work :wave1: :-P

Bit of update photos taken 10/5/12 and today , pretty happy with growth , plants are starting to get going as soon as i put them in , dug up some strawberry runners two weeks ago and bunged em in starting to flower already tomatoes are still struggling .

Could be anything i guess aphids arnt helping went away for a week they soon become a problem if you stop killing them , latest plan of attack is to use the old vac cleaner that i hammer the harlequin bugs with , set up a long soft hose that i can work with amongst the plants with a tee piece and tap to bleed off excess suction .

Had a bit of a scare this morning woke up and power was off , got the little gen set going its only a cheap little one but ran for 6hrs on a full tank with 75w drawing off it thought i would see how long it would run and the premix fuel was getting old so i ran it untill it started to miss to use up the fuel.

Only have 10 trout in 900L tank , got the water running and tossed in some feed and they were smashing the feed as normal so hope their ok .

Of course must must must get a back up system .

My FT has been slowly getting more and more murky i can barely see the fish now , System is currently pump in sump going to FT then Via a SLO into the growbeds and auto siphons back to sump , would a swirl filter on the supply to FT achieve anything or alternately im thinking a 200L barrel full of gravel with a 100mm pipe down the centre to drop water in and an overflow into fish tank as a constant flood biofilter , or do i just eat the trout and wait for it to clear.
:?

Is your pump still running O.K?
I found with my SLO that it works better with a higher flow to get good suction going.

Maybe add some filter pads under the outlets to the grow beds.

Its awhile since i posted on this thread  Trout are in the Freezer havent eaten any yet , just finished the madness of grain harvest ive hardly been home was flat out shearing before that , i have put together a second system out of bits and pieces amazing what you can build with stuff laying around . Building a experimental floating raft attached to the black growbed system at the moment so probably have some questions about that

I have 50 little Silver Perch Now split bettween the two systems

Looking a bit sparse in the plant department , harvested some nice veg , got some more seeds in , you have to keep at it , only me and Mrs Terra all the kids have flown the coop .

Also have a large dirt garden around the other side of the house so always have something on the go .

Looking at doing a major upgrade with a 5000L Aquaculture tank in the shed with growbeds lined up outside for the main system and useing my original system for the new fingerlings .

Put a lot of thought into a back up system and have to get that up and running , trouble is my systems are a bit scattered and my fish tanks are 8 meters apart so long runs of wire needed , bit more thought needed .
