Okay so this system is just a test to see how much effort is required to keep the water and nutrients at all the right levels. However I think that really it was just an excuse to get started!
Cut up an IBC I had laying around as per the "Bible" THE IBC OF AQUAPONICS. It is available here somewhere!
Next I want to "TRY" digging a large pond and somehow incorporating it into a large Aquaponics setup and BBQ/entertaining area beside the house.
11/4/13 PH >7.6 - Amonia 2-4ppm - Nitrite 1ppm - Nitrate <10ppm
11/4/13 PH >7.8 - Amonia .25ppm - Nitrite >5ppm - Nitrate 5ppm - Water Temp 23c
Will drain more water out today and add some fresh tank water to try and lower the PH

A few more pics. All my Iceburg lettuce Kicked the bucket so add some Beans.
We have some Yabbies from our dam, a few Purple Spotted Gudgeons, and 20 Silver Perch(well more like 30 the breeder was not very careful about numbers  )
I know OVERSTOCKED, but I will get a second IBC going this week and we can transfer some over.

looks good, the fish numbers will be fine until they start to grow to a significant weight and even better since you are expanding already :)

Well things have been progressing well until this morning.
Fish are off their feed and are hiding in parts unknown. Admittedly I cannot see right to the back of the tank but usually they swim in school formation and you can see them.
Just did water tests > 21/4/13 PH <7.6 - Amonia .25ppm Nitrite 5ppm Nitrate 5ppm
Added some Chelated Iron yesterday as the tomatoe plants leaves were a bit yellow.
Maybe that has put the fish off their feed.
I am not happy with the pump as it does not seem to pick up enough stuff off the bottom.
Will have to see if I can make a cover to go over it with a crenalated base. Any suggestions?
