Well I finally bit the bullet and bought my first system. It's a courtyard system from BYAP. Thanks very much Nat for your help :thumbright:

Managed to make it home from Perth without blowing away.

I have a few jobs to do before I set up the system properly. Want to make a cover for the fish tank to keep the small people out and need to replace colorbond on the roof with clear sheeting to let more light in.

Haha yeah I worked it out in the end.

Build a cover for the fish tank today. I was hoping to source some recycled jarrah from the salvage yard but they didnt have any suitable or of the right price. Ended up using pine so I'll have to see how it goes.

Just so long as the pine is not treated. It doesn't look it in the photo's, but I would hate for you to find out the hard way.....

Finished setting up the system yesterday. Washed gravel, cut a hole through the fish tank cover for the drain piper to fit through and made a lock for the lid on the tank.

Has cycled overnight and the water is fairly cloudy. I washed the gravel for about 30 mins but I guess you can never get all the dust out.

Planted out the grow bed with some seedlings out of the dirt garden.
