Hi everyone.let me start by saying what a great place this is. Lots of great info and lots of helpful advice.

My name is Brett and as the title says im located in Adelaide. Im new to this and after reading alot of info on here im ready to start my system.
Ive had a planted tropical fish tank for over ten years now so im famillar with some of the basics.its even has co2 injection...
Going to be using ibc's. Getting a few from pat the drum guy on monday(rdo yay!)
I have a conventional vegie patch, its been great.but now after seeing a member on heres system im hooked.thanks sejin...

My plan is to start small (this could change lol) and keep my other vegie patch for now. Then if viable ill remove original vegies to make way for grow beds.
my problem is location. Idealy it would be where the vegie patch is now.(fenced from the dog and chickens)

Ive attached a few photos of the space I have available.i would like it up the top on the patio for convience and the sound if the water.but worried bout the dog.

Looking for your opinions on location. Im thinking either where the bbq is but will have to watch the chickens when I let them in the yard.
Or parallel to the driveway leading into the garage on the pavers.
Both areas recieve good light and avaiable power is not a worry as im a sparky.

Cant bring myself do remove the vegie patch just yet.

Thanks in advance guys.

Hi Bret,

Welcome to the forum.
It sounds strange to welcome when i am only two and half months old here.

It would be easier to understand if you could provide a top down diagram of your yard indicating North.

Hi sejin.
North for me is my back fence,so the current vegie patch gets lots of sun and so does the bbq area.

ive decided to start a small scale setup where the bbq is, and will take it from there. Eventually removing vegie patch and paving the area to make room for something bigger.

But for now I just wanna see how this all goes. Thanks for the comments.Tomorrow im getting 3 ibcs...

P.s sejin I will be contacting you this week regarding the powered tv amp once it arrives at the wholesaler. Also if you have those water meters installed I can quickly hook those up at the same time.

Pps. Where did you get your expanded clay from.

3 IBCs! Starting big.

Thanks for the amp.

Got clay balls from solardome, 44 Chapel St.
Most people prefer the german product called Hydroton, forgot its name, than Chinese ones (even though Australian brand named.)
HIghland Grow & Flow (14/1042 Grand Junction) had lower price.

Ok 2 ibcs later.....
Got them from pat the drum guy, some were 30 bucks but had way to much pva glue left in them. These have been washed I think because theres no odur or residue.
Pat said they carried water soluble glue, and he uses them for animal feed and watet troughs.ive read a few people on here have used them with sucsess.

Just filling them up to check for cracks, will be doing the cleaning routine after that.just got two, there way bigger in person.lol.

im still looking at other peoples designs to get ideas.thinking ill make a ft and gb out of one and a
St and gb out of the other.

Well its a start.
