Wow Shelgeyr... just found your thread and read through from the beginning... pretty crazy how much stuff you scrounge... for the last couple years I've thought F&F was the luckiest guy alive, but you have him beat I think. Going to have to pay closer attention to golf tournaments and see if they ever hit the northern states... and maybe just go drive around a couple of metro areas and see what kind of garbage I can find sitting behind buildings lol...

My current plans are to put the few remaining surviving fish into an aquarium for awhile (months to years?) and basically get out of aquaponics, at least for the short term. I still love the hobby, but it will be awhile before I can get back into addressing it properly, and my backyard looks like a dump because of all the equipment I've collected over the years. I have GOT to get things cleaned up!

To that end, I've got some equipment to sell, other equipment to give away (IBC totes for example), both at my Frisco and Dallas locations.

I'm also selling this greenhouse in Dallas (it is now partially disassembled):

It's that time of year again, and the Byron Nelson golf tournament has wrapped up.

I haven't been to their new location, but I did just notice this morning that they're still doing their big giveaway.

Please note that I am not associated with them in any way, they've just been very good to me over the past few years.

Here's the Craigslist post:

https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/zip/d ... 33112.html

-------------

Byron Nelson Carpet, Laminate and Mesh Donation (Great Trinity Forest Way)

The Byron Nelson has a large amount of carpet, laminate and mesh to donate to the community of Dallas post event. Please contact Alex if interested in any of the mentioned materials. Pickup times: 8am-4pm. Enter through Audubon Center Gate.

email: c7vps-6602133112@sale.craigslist.org

(I'm going to cross-post this over in one of the equipment areas as well)

It's been about a half-year since I posted anything.

Here's an update: Everything but about 6 goldfish either was killed, died, or has been given away.

* Tilapia - killed either by a pump issue (last year) or a plumbing leak (the few remaining survivors this year)
* Rabbits - gave away
* Hedgehog - gave away
* Chickens - killed by one or more bobcats (not sure how many), who slayed them all in an early morning massacre and dragged 3 over the fence into the alley, only to then messily destroy them in a neighbor's yard.

So I've got some equipment, a big makeshift greenhouse, and a couple of coops, etc. to sell - much of which (but not all) has been featured earlier in this thread.

The greenhouse frame I'd like to sell is made of two former restaurant outdoor seating awnings, spanned by whatever I could figure out to span them with, and I've had it in at least two configurations - one with the "chicken side" vertical, the other with it horizontal and lifted up on posts.

Here's what the two parts looked like when new-to-me, and also with them loaded onto my trailer for scale.

I also have a roll of greenhouse plastic sufficiently large enough to cover it twice.

More to come...

I realize this is not a "chicken" board, but since I'm not the only aquaponics enthusiast to have also raised chickens, and since I no longer do, here's some pictures of the two coops I need to sell.

1st is a standard store-bought model, which is fairly light-weight:

2nd is a very heavy home-made (but not by us) coop built onto a swing-set frame:

I have a couple of 500 gallon tanks I need to get rid of.

This one has both side and base openings (I have a spare bulkhead fitting that will fit the base hole), so this one would likely need to be on some sort of platform or frame (which I don't have).

The other is a more normal tank (i.e. no port hole in the bottom), and is one of the twin tanks shown here.

Anyone need a big staircase-style shop ladder? Extra-cheap?

I had planned to do a successive cascade of grow-beds down it, fill them with flowers & vegetables, and have purple flowering hyacinth beans growing on the frame. I simply never got around to it but I still wish I had.

That square yellow tank is my last remaining combination filter/growbed, meaning it is currently about half full of lava rock (although it isn't in this picture). It needs to go, and although this picture shows just the top cut portion of an IBC growbed situated behind it, I currently have a whole IBC tote back there which I'd be happy to throw in if someone wanted it.

Update: The plastic on this tank is fairly brittle with age - I'll probably sell it for very cheap, or maybe even give it away if someone will do me the favor of taking the lava rock in it as well. So... "free lava rock" if you want to look at it that way...

I'll post regarding the few remaining items just as soon as I remember to take pictures of them.

Happy New Year, everybody!

heaya, do ya'll think if I took the drums/barrels I could convert them into miniature submarines and then with small pump on the back, propelling them forward I could bring them to Australia? :D :laughing3: :bootyshake:

Think of the publicity for BYAP

I would like to get about $175 for each, and can throw in a tote or two to sweeten the deal if necessary. If you're in the DFW area I can probably also deliver them.

Still looking to get rid of pretty much all my stuff.
If you see anything you like in my thread, please let me know, and feel free to make an offer.
I will probably just give away the IBC totes, as I have in the past.
