Bill Mollison goes into the farm layout quite extensively. Perhaps not too relevant here but still some good ideas. Most of my farm layout was centered around trying to hide the ugly stuff from spoiling the fantastic view from the deck :)

Yea, the whole keep the stuff you go to most often closest to the house makes sense to a point but some things just have to go where the space lets them go. (and I need to keep the thinshell home site open.)

Great to hear about your move TC! We too have made the move to some land, some 16mths back, but started with dirt garden produce. Now that we are making a small income from this, we are starting the AP again, slowly but surely! I envy your sheds big time! We have very little in the way of large shedding... good excuse to do some building but there is this thing called time... and money... good luck with your dreams and ventures, will be following with great interest :-)

Oh yea, that time, money and energy thing are a challenge.
It's already so hot here that it saps the energy a bit.

By the way, here are the new tanks

The two big black ones are 3000 gallon water storage tanks for collecting rain water.

The 1000 gallon and 410 gallon tanks are all factory seconds that I got a deal on and could have them all delivered on the same truck for the same delivery price.

Now I just need to finish preparing the "fish shed" to place them all. The first 1000 gallon got placed last weekend. Now time to finish shoveling out more of the stalls.

LOL, you think so Ronmaggi? Well if you think leveling the ground to place tanks counts as talking aquaponics then maybe. Ugh, by the way, leveling the ground for placing blocks or making a compacted level pad for tanks is one of my least favorite activities. Especially doing it by hand and shovel and pick and rake since I don't have a tractor yet.

I do think leveling ground to place tanks is talking Aquaponics! Most system threads are pages of it (at least mine is pages of me digging a giant pit by hand)
