Put them on CraigsList or something. They should sell quickly, if you didn't damage them too badly. But hey, it's gotta be done, right?

The craziness without any precipitation has already started here in Fayettenam. School closures, the unprepared swamping the stores, fender-bender galore!

Take Care.

We once tried that technique to remove scotchbroom, it tore the hitch right off the truck... We once applied a similar technique to remove a tree stump using a come along. The cable snapped. It wizzed right by my head...

At least in the Carolinas people were smart and closed schools and stuff. Apparently in Atlanta they didn't do any planning ahead and kids got stuck at school overnight because the buses couldn't run. Duh the National Weather Center has been predicting this storm and issuing warning since MONDAY!!!!

The Cook got stuck in New Orleans Last night because his plane or flight crew or whatever was stranded someplace else so even through his flight should have been able to leave on schedule since weather hadn't hit there yet when it was scheduled and it was going through Miami He still got stuck overnight there.

It was actually kinda HOT here Yesterday but now damp and chilly again for a couple days before it gets hot again.

The weather this winter is just CRAZY!

How are you doing there JT?

For the record, that's just Atlanta - not all of Georgia. I'm in the Savannah area and it was announced Monday morning that the schools would be closed Wednesday, just in case and this is an area that has not had accumulation in over 15 years.

Hey TC....

we didnt get any snow, just about an inch of sleet.... good thing about sleet is it bounces off power lines, unlike freezing rain, so no power outages...

we got about 1" of sleet and it packed into a solid sheet of ice.....

temperature last night was 22 degrees and got to 29 degrees today.... supposed to drop to 16 degrees tonight BRRRRRRr

crazy weather this year.....

I've had 4 hard freezes this year, none last year.... replanted 1/2 of the crops and may have to do it again after this weather.....

but greenhouse is still doing good, using about twice as much propane as last year.....

will make up for all this in the summer

I feel for you JT. This Winter's been tough for growing, I got wiped out by a cold snap in December that went down to -10 F or so. Just glad to keep the AP water from freezing and keep a few things including some Kale and Chard in the greenhouse.

Hi JT, were just here watching the evenings news and a storey on your latest cold snap.

Hang in there mate, hope you get some better whether soon. I've no doubt you'll get everything back on track as soon as things warm up again.

Good luck

Well I suppose the truth is unseasonal weather isn't as rare as we think and "normal" weather is actually pretty rare. Only problem with the Unseasonal weather is you are never sure what the heck to expect besides the unexpected.

well good news guys....

after the latest hard freeze and sleet storm it looks like everything made it through
the 3 days, with ice, no sun and 20 degree temps....

looks like some celery got burned, but thats about all.....

I was worried about all the new seedlings I just put in to cover the ones that died from the previous
hard freezes....

during the storm, the freeze cloth, sheets and blankets were frozen solid, which I think helped
to hold the temp from going to low... with the light bulb the temp stayed above 32 degrees in
each wicking bed.....

I can see I need to do a little more support on top of the freeze frame as the weight of the water and Ice made the covering sag a little to low...... Minor fix...

if we get another ice storm, I will be more prepared now that I know what I need to do...

I'll send some warmth to you, if you send some ice to me JT.

Between us, we should be able to equalize the climate :)
