the only reason Im using the crates is because I got a lot of them for free....

most people seem to use the ag-pipe which I will probably use for a few of the beds.... when the crates run out

The crates are good as you do not have to shovel so much coarse sand to form your reserve.

while waiting on my sister to show up....I got the WB bolted together and leveled....

I put some silicone in the old plank holes and wide cracks so the liner wont be stretched
into them....

I will be putting in a little clean sand in the bottom to make it softer for the liner...

hopefully tomorrow I will get the liner in and the crates situated, then go and get some sand and get it up and running by the end of next week. But with sister and niece, and then parents coming from PA. not sure how much I will get done..

As F & F said, saves a sharp bit of sand going through the liner. Been there done that. :upset:

well didnt have any carpet, eventhough I will be picking up 1000 sq. feet this
weekend for free :headbang:

I use some old thick landscaping fabric on top of the sand layer, so it should be ok....

got the overflow installed and now ready for the liner and sand...

For the fruit trees why not use IBC/totes either full or cut in half. You can cover them the same as the wicking beds so it all fits in but may be easier for complete construction.

even with family here, I got a little done....

Now putting the liner in..... adding some water to hold it in place, folding the corners

will get the sand in tomorrow.... but wont be able to finish it until I come back from a trip
to PA.

then I will add the topsoil and a 4" dia. (101mm) pipe with holes at the bottom so I can add scraps for the composting worms
