Hi All,

Just thought I may as well start a thread on my upcoming system.
Its a little different to the plan below, but the only difference is I purchased a 1600L FT (maybe use a 1000L IBC as well for different fish)

I cut my IBC's vertically instead of horizontally - and i'll be making my own frames out of 50mm treated pine sleepers (wont be in contact with water)

There are twin Half IBC's (500L) as sumps which will be interconnected with 90mm PVC
A water pump in the sump will feed into the fishtanks via spray bars - and then back to the grow beds via a 90mm SLO.

I think initially i'll start the system with a constant flood - as i believe this will cycle faster.
I may alternate between a bell siphen and constant flood depending on how everything's growing.

Hope to make a big dent in the project next week! :flower:

Thanks :)

I'm a little concerned the height of the greenhouse might not be high enough.. Not sure yet, debating if i should rip down that PVC frame and just build a nice tall wooden greenhouse (then wrap with greenhouse film)

Was a slow start getting to this stage - There is 4 cubic meters of road base in the bottom of that greenhouse, which i had to move by hand.. in the rain.. lol..

Looks good so far..

Can you light the whole thing up and attach it to the top of long star pickets?

How tall is your new tank? I guess if you are worried about height you can dig your sump in deeper and have the beds almost sitting on the ground.

You frame is the same as the one I put up over my bigger system. Mine is about 7m x 3.5m and I have nothing on it most of the year and pull shadecloth over it in the summer. You can see it in my thread of bigger system in signiture

In regards to my FT - I've got a 1600L tank coming, however its got corrugated sides. (poly tank)
Whats the best way to get a 90mm slo thru the tank? I'm leaning towards just jigsaw a hole and silicone ?

Thanks
