I've only skimmed through this, but I'm suspecting that the problem might be the same as what tends to kill most fish, to much doing, not enough leaving alone... :D

Too much feed in a new system, stop feeding, sit on hands.. Aquaponics is the kind of hobby that you really need to start at the same time as a second hobby, so the other one can keep your mind off the aquaponics, especially in the early stages.

I know the feeling, at the start its all you can think about and those little hungry fish are very hard to say no to.

I got the Mrs to weigh the bag of salt, to see how much we have added. 18.6kg remaining in the bag. So 1.4kg roughly added to approximately 700Lt of Ft water. So should be at approximately 2ppt.

Thats not to say that i weighed the bag before i put some in..... Silly me.....

I've only seen it in 25kg bags here.. If yours is definately 20kg, then I guess salt isn't the problem.. If it's 25kg though, it might be..

Day2 home... Water seems good fish are happy. Plant are looking okay too. Lost the corriander due to the salt I think, but I can live with that. Better than loosing fish.

Nitrates and nitrites are definitely doing their thing, so I'll just have to go back and reference the bio chart that was in some earlier replies to see where it's at.....

Not doing much else.... Only feeding once a day...
