I just noticed that there is a bit of a oscillation between the two grow beds when viewed on a time lapse. I never payed attention to the other growbed times. The upper drains into the lower usually giving it a fast cycle compared to the upper growbed. Now I noticed that it does not actually do it. The lower growbed will fill up when the other drains but it is every two of the upper growbed draining the lower will drain once. Time lapse makes this interesting because the upper growbed is larger 15L to 10L in the lower and it only drains in the lower one on that second drain of the upper growbed.

Anyway when I get home I will upload the video making it easier to see.

Also probably could have said cycle instead of drain.....

Since the lower grow bed is not being used as much right now I replaced the 12L or so of Hydroton and put in some scoria to try to remove some of the cloudiness in the water. So far better but now water has a red tint.

This is all that I get out of the tomatoe plants in the indoor system. They do get blooms but don't get past that I'm guessing light and temps. House stays around 63*F (17c) in winter. Basil I'm letting go to seed and let the flowers dry out. Already have about 30-40 seeds from one little 3-5cm long flower cluster.

Brother gave me his old 75 gallon saltwater acrylic tank and his old filter for it. I don't plan on saltwater but it's a free tank.

It uses a under gravel filter and sucks water through that to the pump then to the 3 inline canister filters then returned to the tank. I don't think it is made to be set up with a sump or if I can get replacement parts. Rainbow Lifeguard (Lifeguard Aquatic?)

Updates. Tomato is growing in the window. A few of the goldfish are 5" long. I'm temped to pull the purple basil and pot it. I'm not eating anything from this system and may go try lettuce.

10 minutes after posting that I removed the tomato plant. Moisture from the vines messing with the hardwood window frame.

No basis and no tomato plant. There is still a tree.

I have lettuce growing right now. House temps in the lower 60s also lowered water temps to 65-68.

First picture is 12 days from planting seeds second is at 15 days.

I just had one of the leafs and it tasted like crap. It defiantly needs to grow out a bit to get rid of a bitter grass taste.

Either that or it is too healthy and needs some butter or fat fry it in or it needs bacon bits, and salad dressing,

Pic attached is lettuce at 17 days.

I have the large fantail goldfish in the acrylic tank. Still no real filter or feeding schedule for the guy. Only pump available with the head height is my 2700gph outdoor ap pump.
