I've started work on my v2 system using a 320 gallon IBC for a FT. Building from my previous system I'm going to replace my old fish tank with another black GB in it's place. Hoping to build a 2nd table with 4-5 of the black GBs as well, but I'm not sure if time and money constraints will allow in time for this season.

Picture of my old system for reference:

So far I have cleaned out the IBC thoroughly, drilled my holes for SLO and emergency overflow, and started building a wood box around it to keep light out.

Got to have another day of fun working on AP. My IBC box and lid are done and my trademark cross-SLO is installed :-)

Sorry it's been so long without updates, I got all the plumbing done when there was good weather (except my old long pipe). Or so I though, when I did a test run there was a small leak in my uniseal. In these pictures you'll see my distribution pipe disconnected and slid down for redoing the uniseal. I cleaned up the hole some more and will redo it with silicone (the aquaponic handyman's secret weapon).

Once that's fixed all that's left is doing the electrical, air, and closer to growing season hooking up the DWC pipe again.

Growbeds ready, with my spraybar and some extra pieces laying around.

One more picture, interior of FT. Union is where my spray bar connects so it's easy to remove for maintanence, netting fish, etc.

The pump is hanging in there just to lower the water lever for redoing the uniseal.

Getting excited, hope to have fish in there within the month.

Love expansions, bigger and better!

The top of the SLO will work as an overflow if you drill your hole so that the top of the tee can be below the top of the IBC. You can put a screen over it so that it works as an emergency overflow in case the bottom gets clogged with leaves or something worse like dead fish.

Redid the uniseal with silicone yesterday and there were no leaks today. The goldfish are back outside and back to work after their winter vacation inside.

Everything is finished up now except bringing my big pipe back online, which I'll do just before planting since it would just be losing heat from my water until then.
Getting my bluegill and catfish next week, I might get 2 or 3 black crappie just for testing. I know people say they are hard to pellet train but I think it will be easier when they see the rest of the fish going after them.

What is the recommended Aquamax for 4-6" fish, Grower 400?

Growbeds done and running. The upside down blue tote on the right is my electrical box with air pumps, etc.

Nice caps I found at Lowe's for cheap, they do need some trimming so they don't fit too snug.

2 Independent air pumps with 2 airstones each for aeration. When it stops getting cold outside I'll put them on a UPS for a few hours of backup.

Fish have gotten a lot bigger since last year, for comparison that is 3" / 76mm PVC pipe.
