Beautiful system Johny5. That's super enviable, a real dream system. Well done. What incarnation is this setup? How many times did you end up moving since you began your aquaponics adventures?
I love that greenhouse structure too, super beefy.

Thank you for the comments Brian.

I think this is the fourth including the R&D system I first started with. I have been able to reuse most parts each time. I just need to get the old sump out of the ground at the old place then i can use it again here.

This will be it for quite a while this time as I have what I intended from the start.

Well some building in progress at last.

Five 2200 * 800 * 600 deep DWC troughs built and finally plumbed and flooded.

They are made from sleepers and lined with pond liner. I have a few images to show how I managed to still use Uni Seals with them. This is the first time I have used Uni Seals and they make the job quite quick.

Sleeper frame with a larger diameter hole than is required for the Uni Seal.

To put the Uni Seal in I cut some 6mm PVC sheet and cut the 76mm hole in that, then screwed the PVC to the sleepers.

This was then covered with soft rags to protect the liner. I cut a larger area clear of the rags so that it does not get in the way of the seal. It was to protect the liner from the edges of the PVC more than anything.

Then cut some slits in the pond liner making sure you do not cut any closer the 5 or 6mm to the hole edge.

Finally insert the Uni Seal into the liner and push your pipe in. The PVC is quite strong as I used a rubber mallet to push the pipe in. No broken PVC.

So far none of the seals have any leaks.

Once I have completed the tops I will post some pictures.

I love the "step-by-step" photos - looks like a fantastic system!
