Got the other bed frame stained, I am not sure it was a great idea staining in a closed garage but I sure as hell wasnt opening the door up to the cold :crazy3:

Although I am sure later on when the headache kicks in I will think different.

What are you using on the floor of your bed? and will you put it on the sides, as well? Is it insulation... or simply a structural material?

Oh the floors are plywood as well as the sides will be, I still have to cut the sides. The blue foam is the raft, i am starting to run out of room and my wife wanted to park in the garage tonight. so I had to clean up and move them. I am planning on cutting the sides on saturday. Then hoping to have everything in place by sunday.... thats the hope anyway...

Looks like you're rolling CRF. Did you get the IBC from that contact I sent you?

Do you think you could put a liner in the wife's car and leave enough open space in the driver's seat? It would add valuable GB space, and if you put a metal halide bulb in the dome light you'd be all set :D

Yeah I got the IBC tote from him but now there is another guy that is selling them for $10 cheaper but $60 isn't bad.

I am lucky enough to have a wife ok with me taking up most the garage not gonna press that issue by converting her van into a GB :blackeye:

City Roots,

I like the simplicity of your DWC construction, but I have a question.

How are you securing the side frames to the legs? I don't have much woodworking experience but won't there be a lot of weight on these areas? It seems like you've just screwed them to the legs. Will this be enough support?

Yes they are just screwed in however underneath are L brackets to give added support. Plus in that picture I had not added the center legs yet. But trust me its secure.

Ah... the sneaky L brackets. I don't doubt it's secure, just wanted to know how you secured it in case I ended up following your design!

Charlie was the first one I saw. He has it up on a metal stand. Would have done that but don't weld myself and metal kind of expensive.

City, did you get the blue sheet from a construction firm, or from a marine firm?

My google searches have lead me to marine supply.

Thanks for the info Duff, where do most of the solids from the swirl filter go, are they put on dirt beds or composted?

I feed them to the worm farms(3)

Worms turn it into castings and I make soil blocks.

Seedlings then are planted back into the AP system and dirt garden.

You can also add it to compost teas. I've also dumped hundreds of litres onto the dirt garden.

:D AH HA!! I knew I got the idea from here Dufflight is the one doing it. Sorry it had been bugging me not remembering who it was :geek:
