There is a picture of the trout on page 3 of this thread.
I'm sorry I could not weigh them, as I don't have any scales yet (ha ha)
They should be able to cope in Perth up to 23 degrees, we don't know the temperature at the moment because they ate the bottom off the glass thermometer. They are verocious feeders. However I did just buy a net hence, fish for lunch. I will put kitchen scales on the shopping list.

are you gonna harvest a few at a time and eat them fresh until they're all gone, or are you going to harvest most of them when it gets to hot?

Well, if Faye's skillet is the same size as mine, then her fish were the same size as mine for my first meal. Janet's Theory: If you can squeeze 6 fish (without heads) into the skillet to fry, they must be about 150g.

Looks deeeelicious!!!

what about adding a few silver perch as you remove the trout if harvesting gradually. this way the nitrates would still be good for the plants and bacteria will continue to flourish. this is of course assuming that young silvers can live with large trout. it also assumes you have access to silver fingerling's.

has anyone tried trout/ silver polyculture?
