I can't wait to see your new erection... it has been a little sad seeing pictures with no erection. At least you are trimming the bush and washing up a bit to prepare for the new erection. I'm sure it will be your most impressive erection yet when it does show up.

By varnished, I hope it is not like a furniture grade product. Exterior wood does need to be protected, but not with with anything that forms a hard top coat.

Semi-transparent oil penetrating stain or solid body stain are the keywords to look for in product usage if you are using something other than paint. Also, no finish will perform as expected if the surface is not properly prepared prior to application.

Yes its exterior wood coat, with nano crystals and nano blah blah,I used it the last time and it weathered well for five years or so. Varnish was perhaps not the correct terminology I feel, anywho because the design of the house it very rarely gets wet from rain, but does suffer from UV breaking down the coating,on the front facing posts I used very expensive two pack exterior polyurethane, the side facing the sun was finished in eighteen months and that was with there claims of five to ten years on the tin.
If I had been doing it myself the surface prep would have been a little better than was done, but I can't moan there doing a good job and the house is looking great.

The erection specialist was here yesterday and I have a start day of Saturday week, there are still some cleaning and bush trimming to do but we are having a third person to help us out with that. The wife is really excited about this new erection and can hardly wait to see just how big it is.
Iam hoping the fish house gets started about the same time,i want that up and running so I can cycle it ready for the DWCs to get plumbed in.

I used to restore exterior wood and log cabins. I could take new construction and weather it in appearance or breathe new life into a tired surface. Vertical surfaces weather better than walking surfaces. Protected walking surfaces perform better than exposed.

it is all about what it takes to make it look "new" again while maintaining the beauty of the wood and NOT taking the easy route and covering with paint.

Lots of things going on your property. What are you planning on installing on the fence framework?

Just open chain link,my neighbour behind me allowed us to take the mini digger in through his property which mashed up his garden a bit,so he has clean that he has planted a new hedge on his side, let's just hope he takes care of it.... :dontknow: The open link gives maximum light into the greenhouse so that will be kept clear,as to what they do behind the mums house is up to them it's out of my sight so not much I am going to worry about.
The house came up nice,I wish a bit more care had been taken in some areas but for what I paid it's a good job, finishes on houses here in the boonies is not very important to people, they just think Iam being fussy when I asked for things to be done in a certain way,I watch them go into a huddle and mumble to each other,so I just walk away and let them get in with it,we always manage to strick a happy balance.

Picture time, there not in any particular order but you get a good ideal where I am up to,today I finished cleaning and levelling so I placed the tanks in there rough position along with the filter placement. I am going to build a block wall only one high then fill with river sand and just sit the tanks straight on it,the filters will get dug in to the ground before hand.

The house fresh with its new finish and shots of where the third DWC is going,I have a stunning plan for this, which I will share as we start, the trench is one side of the trough which is 11m X11.2m.
The other shot is the guys building the great fence of Thailand.

Thank you Mel,we bought an old Thai wooden house, reclaimed the timber and turned into into this, inside its been plaster boarded out so as to give a homely feel to it rather that we were living in a large shed sat on tree stumps...lol
