An update on my little seedling bench which is absolutely kicking ass, this thing is a few attempts old but it’s finally right.

The plastic bag is how they start life, the foam flats once seeded are placed in the bag until the first signs of life, from there they go into the bench. The bench was built to take exactly 12 flats this means there is no gaps for the sunlight to get through to grow algae, the white sheets you see are polystyrene cut to the same size as the foam flats,as a flat is removed a poly flat is put in its place. When the bench floods these just rise up with the water level and on draining go back down to rest on the grid in the bottom.
These pics are of Chinese Celery and Butterhead lettuce.

Wow Andy... this is truly amazing. You have set yourself up pretty nice there. All of your test erections over the years have resulted in the greatest erection of all time. I bet the neighbors are starting to get jealous of your erection now that they see all of the life it has given.

I love this! Starting seeds is one of my greatest challenges. I feel lucky when I get 30% germination. I'm going to incorporate something similar for seed starting in my system. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. What an amazing system. It's such a great benefit that you have built systems before. My second system was much better than my first, but there are still things I would do differently if I built it again now that I have more experience and understanding of how things work.

Dutch Bucket Peppers and Chilies, Grand Rapids lettuce and more baby Butterhead lettuce. My bad I didn’t clean the float between crops and it piddles me off every time I look at them.

I'll say "happy new year," but it appears evident from these successes. Keep your positive progress going and the new year will be fantastic. Congratulations to you and your family.
