Dasboot, your pond shots look fantastic and those grow beds look so healthy. I can imagine sitting and watching that pond, sooo tropical.

Many thanks Faye,it's still a work in progress, but please it was your thread that was the inspiration, the pics of your system gave me the drive to try to achieve the same,as they say watch this space.

Potential new site, wife thinks it would be a good ideal to expand on the other side of the house, roughly 10 by 6 meters. I think I would move the existing 8 add a few more. It's about 16 meters from the settlement chambers so a bit of a plumbing run,but a much better site to expand. Ok out with the tape rule pen and pad lets start planning.

Your potential new site looks similar in size to my new project area Dasboot.
I guess your wife must have been impressed by your first ap attempt and in record time too I might add.

As you say Faye things have gone very smoothly,my first post was only April 21st,it now still only the begining of June,i think its just a mix of no patience and luck. If you look back at the post before and compare the growth of the beans in two days,I wll run out of space at that rate, iam sure if you stood there you could actually watch them grow. The pic that looks like it's of a dog turd,is actually a piece of ginger that has decided to have a go,I noticed the first of its roots heading down into the gravel.
The strawberry season is over here, most of the strawberry beds have just been left,as we was passing we noticed a pot with a small green shoot drooped over the edge so rather than let it suffer the same fate as the others,i broght it home and put it in the corner of the bed, week later and it to is beginning to grow well.

Two deliveries today Tillapia and chickens, I know the chicks are not Aquaponics but there so cute,I could let them drink the pond water so sort of a link. Not sure how many fish in the bag,but it was £2 for a pot full, they are safe now in there new home.
The pic of the pond,I was asking in the beginning about algae and green water in relation to high PH,the advice to cover the pond and the grow beds have put paid to that, the pond is 4 ft deep at that point.

The beans are not so much growing as I reckon trying to escape,I never seen anything grow so fast, extra support for them now, lets see how high they will go. The one lonely Tomatoe is struggling,to be expected Ph still a bit higher than I want and iam still struggling on EDDHA and potassium, the search continues. Everything else looks pretty good, can't wait to start on the new site,I have surveyed for levels and although I will level the patch it's ok to the settlement chambers,so my returns should be ok.

Our first meal from our growbeds, baby lettuce, fish and noodles and a very spicy dip,in the future should be our fish as well. I have two types of Basil side by side, sweet and not sure the name, the sweet basil was attacked, maybe aphids, which I had on the beans, but the other basil and the chillies are un touched, the new growth and upper leaves quite badly attacked. I sprayed with a mix of,garlic chillies and a touch of liquid soap, kills the aphids quickly and it seems what ever it was on the basil has not made a reappearance.
