It is 110v here, so while it is annoying to be bit by it, it is not the deadly force 220v is. It CAN kill, but far less likely. Still, time for a new pump.

It is on a GFI, so not sure why it was still running or shocking.

I will be running new power to that location eventually and give it a better ground. It's a older house, but some of the wiring may be a bootleg ground and some is to code. Hope this outlet is grounded correctly. Never noticed any tingles before and that was a few days ago that I was feeing water flow from the SLO.

Is it wise to create an electric eel powered AP system? Sure it *looks* like free energy, but is it worth the risk?

The mold line is causing the bulkhead to leak and is really pissing me off......

Added close to another 1/4" of rubber as a gasket but still no luck.

Yea, btw, don't put bulkheads on mold lines.

It's not on the mold line. More like an inch from it and still causing issues. I just finished putting two thick beads of aquarium silicone on both sides of the hole and kind of smashed it all in. I will let it cure over the weekend and try it out on Monday or Sunday night.

Dear Rob, I hope you remember to research your experiences of AP - that crap is bioslime and the lines are .... :) well they grow in your water tank also - bacteria colonisation?

Perhaps seams from the molding process would have been a better description.

I have had ponds, but never seen this kind of growth (those little turds) before. Usually just the green thick slimy algae and the film like in the inside system.

I'm not moving water at all right now. The water is still green , but not as dark as before.

Looks like the crap load of aquarium silicone will hold. It is raining right now so the main fish tank should overflow into it through the SLO. Well if I add more to the fish tank, this rain my pass through fast.

nope its not that - it happens naturally almost like a bacteria colony

The mold lines he was referring to were the seams in the poly tank due to the molding process, not the bioslime on the foot of the SLO.

So for the confusion. I was hot and frustrated trying to get it to seal. The mold seam lines are not very flat on the bottom of the 30 gallon barrels. Even going a few inches away they still caused an edge to lift and cause it to leak.

The rain last night was enough to fill the fish tank and give a few inches in the bottom of the 30 gallon barrel. Then again everything was open to the outside. Not sure if it filled the SLO. Just gave the system a glance before I left this morning.
