I have a new system :headbang:

It's EB's old system, so has been pre-trained in amazingness and bountiful vegetable and herb production :headbang: :headbang:

And... I didn't have to pay for it :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

It's my birthday in a couple of weeks and my lovely boyfriend was, as he often is, subjected to another of my Aquaponics musings after seeing Joel's system for sale. So he decided to track Joel down somehow (the less I know the better, I'm sure) and buy it for my birthday before I could myself.

Proof either that he is a great romantic, or that men will go to any lengths not to have to think of what to get their partners when it comes to gifts. I was going to start droppings hints about a Diggers' Club subscription maybe, but this works waaaaay better! :flower:

So...
EB suggested that I might want to re-jig the configuration, which I think I will have to anyway, given the space I'm working with. Which means that I'm now putting it out there to all of you to give me your suggestions and advice please!

This is a sneak peek for you.
I will give you a breakdown on the space/options I have, and the components of the system shortly :)

Thanks in advance guys and gals!

Swoit!

Lucky lady, lets say your boyfriend is quite the romantic, that is an awesome and thoughtful gift! And if you ask me, practical gifts are the best kind!

Looking forward to see it set up and producing. :)

I thought so too.

I think I decided to keep him the day he got up at 5am to dig the gigantic hole for the pond and left me sleeping in bed :-D

That is awesome. Best birthday present ever. I was wondering who would end up with Joel's system and was hoping it would be someone on the forum so it can continue its journey. That is the first aquaponics system I ever read about in Joel's book. Look forward to seeing it in action katmac

I dug a massive hole in the backyard, and just got told off for letting the dog run mud through the house!

I'm slightly terrified actually.
'No pressure, but EVERYONE is watching you....'
But the excitedness outweighs the terror at this point.

I'll post some more info for anyone who's not familiar with the system when I get to work tomorrow.

You'll be fine. The systems aren't all that complex. Pump water, drain water. Everything should be there for you.

What are you doing with your existing pond?
