Thanks guys. And Colum, thanks to you as well for the giant growbed video. I gave credit to Muzza, but yours inspired me as well!!

You've always got something happening and again it sounds and looks like a very well thought out project. Sorry about Mac the Lizard. I'm curious about Wednesday too.

Thanks Boss.

Well, seems like I won't be here to see José complete the DWC cutting & welding. I have a mall graphics job tomorrow:

Its a good thing that its during the day though. I normally have to do these after 9PM (or 10Pm during Christmas season!)

Hey guys. I thought I'd take a quick photo this morning before heading to work. Please disregard the iron bars on the left and the PVC pipe with the Y's & ball valves, as they were just left there from yesterday and will be removed.

The project keeps evolving. After seeing Hollis and Nancy's Tomato tower video on youtube, I've decided to incorporate (3) separate grow beds (3 IBC's) to house tomatoes, cukes, and whatever other trellising plants. Haven't decided if putting gravel or just floating rafts on these. I really hate the thought of ever having to clean out another gravel bed.

For the trellis, I've acquired some decorative iron window frames that are around 4'x10' with some 12"x18" holes, which I plan to install vertically on the left side of the IBC's. Any thoughts?

This is why it sometimes takes a long time to setup a system - the process of deciding and changing things around is also the best part for some of us though :headbang:

Cant wait. The weather here today is vicious. As usual, little rain and wind and the whole island's power is down. Needless to say I'm taking the morning to organize the shop, and playing with AP in the afternoon! Anyone curious about the weather in my region, check out caricoos.org (its mainly marine weather, but its what I always look at!)

Don Luis rolling some galvanized primer after I applied some red oxide primer to the welds. Hoping to paint today, weather permitting.

Good morning, BYAPpers! Quick pit stop for a question. Could you guys recommend some kind of food grade paint or coating for the inside of a PVC / fiberglass tank? My buddies at the marina are finally building the cone bottom for my big RFF! Will post photos asap. Tied up with work!

The food industry often uses epoxy paints and resins to seal those awkward kinds of surfaces.

Cherry Tomato harvest from the buckets:

(70) 5 gallon buckets to expand bucket system. Some will go on roof. Don't tell wife yet. She doesn't know!

Image

A "crappy basil" inspired bank of bottle cap filters. (Andrew, thank you very much for your inspiration)

Image

Image

A view of the dirt garden. (2) buckets of potatoes, raised bed with sweet potaoes, corn in the background, compost piles hidden behind bananas, rocking chair holding bunch of bananas. Hey its all I could find before the wind blew it down!

Image

Feeding the compost pile. Have to make time to buy a pitch fork!
