That's awesome... Wish I could do that sort of scale!

It is pretty intensive but just be thankful you don't have to deal with the stress! That said I am pretty excited for trying out aquaponics again and hopefully more successful than last year and getting the new system up and running. I may have to draw or sketch the system design. There might be some interesting input. I might also be applying some new ideas that I have recently seen in the hatchery newspaper that I get.

I have to deal with a different stress... I'd rather deal with the stress of worrying about my fish =)

Yup don't blame you! Things are slowly coming together. I should maybe study my aquaculture engineering book before finalizing my plans for my next system.

Got the one system up and running and grow lights set up. Just need to get plants started and in a week or two fish will be moved into the system. I am looking forward to seeing how the year will go.

Update: some of the fish are moved out of the hatching trough into one of the tanks. Also planted some upland cress. Need to get some lettuce going

Fish are are doing well. Slowly growing. I am currently having trouble keeping things warm enough at the moment. My masonry heater and water heaters isn't keeping up to keep things warm. This morning it is -33 Celsius outside. The upland cress is starting to grow but I still need to get some lettuce started and get it growing

Yikes! I thought it had been cold here. We've been sticking around 0F to about -10F but that's only -17 to -23C.

My greenhouse has managed to stay above freezing so my greens are still growing but tomatoes and peppers are dying.

Nice to keep the green house above freezing. Yup tomatoes don't like things too cold. Wow that is nice and warm those temps! We should be warming up to that today. Yesterday morning it was around-37 -40 Celsius. -40 is the same Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Things have really warmed up so building is warming up, water is warming up to 12 degrees and fish are getting active again. Have two months of growing to catch up

That is no fun losing your tomatoes to the heat. The odd time during summer it will get that hot but has been probably over 30 years since it was that hot.

The upland cress is growing really good. Made a small harvest to put in a stew and it took off after the trim job. Got some leaf lettuce seedlings planted. The fish are growing really good. Just need to get the new system built. Looks like I will have to go to my computer to share pictures.
