I'm a slasher kind of a guy myself, whipper snippers lack the up front and personal approach I like to adopt with weeds in my garden.

Steve could surely clear your yard in record time.

Steve, you sound like you should be in the Rural Fire brigade, like my husband! That's the main reason they all join, they get to light the fires!
As for slashing, we live on a hill that moonlights as a rock farm. This is a very good reason for going to aquaponics!

Duh! All this time I've just been shoving them out of the way and I should have been fertilising them! How stupid am I? then I can paint those little faces on them.

I've noticed others putting their pics in, so I thought I would show you all the space that will become aquaponics central for Alligator Creek (south of Townsville).
We're on just over an acre, but most of it is not flat and I have mentioned before the rock farming aspect...
It is fairly typical Townsville spring here, becoming very dry, very fast.

Beside the site is the potato patch, a circle of probably 8m diameter.

The chook and duck yard is down the hill from both of these. The duck's bath drains over a grain bed to provide the chooks and ducks with green pick.

not yet, I've just been told that "the season's finished" for seed spuds, so we're making our own
I've previously grown sweet spuds in the same place and gotten barrow loads of them, with absolutely no effort at all
As to looking forward to the tanks being installed, I'm looking forward to just buying / scrounging the tanks yet!
We've got a couple of blue drums in the process of being cleaned out.
I've arranged a babysitter, so on Thursday I'm heading off to Mitre 11 with the ute for a shopping spree!

Well, apart from ringing and webbing around for prices on equipment, not much has happened. The site is cleaned up, waiting for the mate with a bobcat to come over for some beers, oops I meant he has to level the site for me!

The steel and timber for the roof was delivered today. As its all recycled stuff it will need a cleanup too, to remove nails etc. That's a job for late afternoons in the shade.
