Geez, you go to sleep for a few hours and the threadjackers move in, someone call the postguard :P

Off to the local hardware shop, hoping they'll have most of what's on my shopping list :)

More photo's later, it's starting to look like a garden out there this morning, sprouts everywhere!

Just a quick iPhone snap this morning, we have sprouts coming up all over the place, and I added 4 goldfish that'd been donated to the cause yesterday, they seem happy this morning, and it feels like the system is really coming together :)

Little update, and I hope the first photo will do for a full membership ;), cannot find bikini model willing to work free :(

I still seem to have 0 nitrates/trites, but I have a feeling i'm doing the test wrongly, as surely the plants would be looking undernourished by now?

hey steely

that looks great and the plants look really healthy ( dont think they are lacking in nutes at all )

and your system could be running close to 0 everything ( rupertofOZ tells me that you can do it that way )

if your worried about your nirate nirite then you you could feed your fish some extra but make sure you keep an eye on your ammonia levels if you do, as an ammonia spike then followed by a nitrite spike will kill your fish

otherwise you could just add a few more fish for the extra nutes too

im still feeding more and adding more fish too

good luck with your system

the toes look a little forced to me, perhaps if you were to relax, and look a little more natural ;-)

Looks good! :thumbright: Your plant growth is faster than mine. I have a bunch of sprouts but they haven't extended past 2 inches(50mm) in a week or so... :?: Mine are are indoors in front of a window with miniblinds closed (still lets in enough light for the whole room) with a water temp of 75-80F(26C).

Well, 25 went in last night, and this morning, 25 hungry silvers!!

They're looking great, happy in the tank and chasing the goldfish, huge thanks to Rupe for delivering them, and also for the

Well, they looked hungry anyway, and the mayfly-looking insect that "fell" into the tank this morning didn't last long ;)
