Finally got back to the obsession......

after rain, heat, and restoring a boat thats not mine.. Im getting back to
getting the west GB's built.....

the rest of the system is ticking along nicely even though our temps have been way above normal.....toms have taken a hit, but the peppers are thriving.... got watermellon but no cucs , but lots of flowers...

fish are getting BIG.... got a few cats 11-12 inches long.... just about ready for a cooking lesson....

hope to finish up the new beds in 2 or 3 weeks...

Heres how I made my rock guards.....

I used an 8" PVC pipe supplied to me by Chance (thanks chance)

to make a straight cut around a long pipe, get a wide piece of paper with at least
one straight edge and wrap it around the pipe and overlap it and line it up on the edge,
mark around the pipe and it will be a square cut..
Image

to create even holes around the circumference, take the paper you used and fold it in half
longways... if you want 2 holes fold it once, if you want 4 evenly spaced holes fold it twice and so forth...
Image

use a hole saw and drill on the hash marks and you get the following holes evenly spaced
Image

Image

cut the pipe along the line and you have two rock guards.. Add a bunch of little holes
to allow the water to flow without any restrictions and your ready to go..
Image

place it in your GB over your adjustable Affnan siphon and your ready to go..
