Been a while [ moving and all that stuff ]
Heres my interpretation of a wicking bed
Start with an old skip bin [ it fell of a truck ] :thumbright:
Cut it down to 500 mm and strengthen the top
Then put in a 90 mm inspection pipe with lots of holes
Then a drain at the other end
Cut some old milk crates to 200 mm
Then put shade cloth over and tuck it in
Tomorrows job is a few bags of coco fiber ,a tube to feed the worms and some potting mix and plant
With this set up i intend to run it on worm wee seasol or whatever takes your fancy

Dont know if anybody is interested but got a call from the new owners of the old place
[ the fish are dying ] so went to have a look
ibc fish tanks had about 12 in water in them should have been full ;but i thought it was recycling the water ;
there was a dead silver floating in the silver tank [been there a few days ] also there was things like galvernised wheels of toys in the silver tank ;the kids like throughing things in the tanks ;
dident even look in the trout tanks
kids probley have turned of taps to various beds the strawberry tower was dead the grape vine was dead no water
they planted things in the wicking beds but nothing is growing " quote you need to water them :OH:
needless to say bit disappointed with the whole thing
Bugger lets have another beer and move on
Cheers F&F
