After moving house I've had room to expand my system from 3 IBCs to 20 IBCs, a 7000 Litre Tank and two 2000l of Sump.

Its been running since Feb - so 3 1/2 months but stocking is still low as I haven't been able to buy any trout.... :-(

Problem is that this site is still in the 90's and photos have to be 800*600 so you cant see anything on them
so if you wanna have a look - please feel free to follow the link :-) to some proper photos...

Yikes, that is one mega system. Are all 70 ICB connected in the one set up? Do you also have fish in all the sump tanks (how do you go with mosquito)?

I wish I had more room at my place.

Hi The Steve

20 IBCs not 70 :-)

Yep they're all connected - no mosquitos - have koi, marron and baby perch in the sump tanks. Have a bit of a problem with midgies though - they breed in the pipes and the fish can't get to them.

Well that has to be the surprise of the day  You have got me stumped on what BFG stands for. Please enlighten me before my head hurts any more.

I guess there are no Quake players of old amongst you... BFG stands for Big Fu**ing Gun :-)

Power is not too bad - I have

* 300W 18000L/ph from the sump to the main tank on a time 30min on, 30 off,
* 9000L/ph on a float switch to ensure sumps don't overflow - it runs for about 10minutes every couple of hours
* 4* 200W 7000L/ph pumping up to the grow beds on about 40% of the time - these are going to be replaced with one of the first pumps - much better power usage and general running.
* flouro light is on for a couple of hours per night to attract bugs - this is going to be replaced with some waterproof LEDs.

To help offset it all I have 3KW of polycrystalline panels on the roof :-)

Thanks Jayenda - people have been calling me that all my life :-)

Biggest problem at the moment is caterpillars - hand picking them everyday seems to keep the damage down

Has anyone been able to get thru to the FB pics? I have put them on Dropbox as well:
