With the temperatures you guys have had over the last couple of days, I'm amazed at only one floater. 39C in the fish tank is "hot tub" conditions. 20 cent hose clamp?...yeah, we've all done something stupid like that although we mightn't have realised it as stupid at the time.
So far temps are holding ok here (Melb), but ambient air temp is a "stinker".
(Does 39C warrant a call to the Emergency Hot Line LOL?)
I hope the rest of your fish are ok.

Three small (last years brood) dead found in total, but like I said, who knows what's going on at the bottom of the tank. But it does seem like everyone is still there.

Mrs Bullwinkle found one of my biggest breeders floating belly up in the hottest part of the fishtank, and picked it up and dropped it into the cool sump before I could mention that the shock of the cure might be worse than the problem, but it's doing fine 24 hours later.

Really, goldfish are dangerous. If they can survive the shit they just went through... no oxygen for who knows how long, 39c (at the cool end of the day) and an oil film on the top of the water due to (I'm guessing the rotting, cooked, yellow slime on the surface) then being dropped near death from 39c to around 27c water and shrugging it off... they really do represent the most dangerous invasive fish species that humans have ever created.

I think it's time I stopped breeding them.

Once you make that decision, what do you do with your existing fish?

The truth is that if I sell them they will probably die anyway because after starting to breed goldfish a while back, (act first research later) I have discovered that people tend to replace their goldfish every few years because they kill them.

So much so that many countries have banned the traditional goldfish bowl because they cant sustain life.

Goldfish are smarter than you think.

The goldfish lobby is working harder for their own rights than we seem to be for our human ones.

It is my hope that we outlive the goldfish to restore balance, but only just... to restore even more balance. (In a trillion years or so it might be nice if humans walked the plank as well for the good of everything else.

)

Also, and perhaps more importantly for the sake of the globe, I just discovered that that guy who plays Freddy in the Queen movie is that actor!!!!!!!!!

Awesome.

I only have one Arab friend, and now I need a shitload more!

Arggg!

My friendbase is too limited. What if an Inuit gets a famous role in a film. I have ZERO Inuit friends!!!!!!!!

Arggg!

Getting all serious for a sec, that actor has done an amazing bit of work.

I dont know his name tho I've seen him in some stuff before, but I dont really care who his real name is... I think that's the point of being an actor after all.

He probably would want an aquaponics system if he knew anything about it.

Bam!

On topic!

Yes, but apparently "Eskimo" is seen as slightly... un-nice. I'm not sure if it's racist, I think it's just a bit dismissive or something.

Also I dont think all Inuit care.

Either way, it's safer to say Inuit I think.

I just had a look, and it seems all those people up there go under different names, so perhaps it's just rude to lump them all together under the name Eskimo.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eskimo

The word Eskimo derives from phrases that Algonquin tribes used for their northern neighbors. The Inuit and Yupik peoples generally do not use it to refer to themselves. The governments in Canada and Greenland have ceased using it in official documents.
