So I started making the video, and the camera ran out of juice, and turns out I've lost my charger :[

Suffice it to say tomatoes downstairs are doing quite well, haven't been upstairs yet today.

Getting my hands on some plain sand, compost and some coca coir or peat moss to make up some wicking buckets, hope can get it done soon.

Upstairs looks good, pumps and air pumps starting to fail though, loads of ants and creepy crawlies in the AP GB, spent a while flooding the bed to *frack* with them.

MUST GET ON IT!

Yet to make progress, bit of a thunderstorm today hope everything is fine upstairs.

My maternal uncle passed away today, had a heart attack. My parents and all were hanging out at their house till almost 1 a.m. last night, he was fine, even woke up before dawn to have his sehri, the pre-fast meal, then after that just collapsed. One of my cousins was luckily there so gave him some first aid as per the doctor's instructions over the phone, got him to the hospital but no good.

How fragile our mortality is, how fleeting our lives.

"They give birth astride of a grave, the light gleams an instant, then it's night once more." Samuel Beckett

Sorry to hear that, Abdul. Go tend to your family. The AP can take care of itself for a few days.

Thanks for the advice guys, I've been doing just that, though avoiding going out and meeting everyone for eid. Made an update video while I spent the day in.

If you've watched the update video you'll remember me talking about potential tilapia babies, well here they are!

Hey guys, rained today, was a bit of an electric failure upstairs in the AP so pulled the plug, will go up turn it on in the morning, but all looks fine. Also, the tilapia looks like its holding eggs again!

The fry are fine, seem to be feeding well, getting larger, would post a video but no juice in the camera :[

The babies look great. Wish we could raise them here, but if we could some idiot would let them loose in our waterways so it wont happen.
Sorry to hear about your uncle

Note to Admins: I recently noticed that the forum now censors any foul language in posts that I put up. I intend on taking full advantage of this infringement of my freedom of speech during this post.

Note to the faint of heart: This post isn't pretty, pleasant or polite. You have been warned.

*frack*. *frack* *frack* *frack* *frack* *frack*!!!

*frack*!

I went up this morning to turn the pump back on, which I did, it purred back on. I peeked into the FT to verify that it had indeed turned on. I saw it was pumping rather faster than normal, but I figured it was ok as the ST was full and it had just clicked on and maybe there was some high voltage but all good I figured.

Then I noticed the fat fish belly next to the water splashing in.

All seven goldies were floating belly *frack* up. All seven bloated and dead. Water looked a little green and smelt of death, fishy *frack* death.

Was horrible getting them out, was going to bury them in plants outside but through some misunderstanding they just got chucked in the trash.

Hence, I say once again, *frack*!

So now the small AP system has just one pleco in it, perhaps two if the one in the ST is still up and about, and the bathtub fish all seem fine, the tilapia does seem to be holding eggs again.

But, *frack* *frack* *frack* FUUCK!

*Sigh*

Going to run some water tests when I get back home in the evening. Figure they must have died due to the lack of aeration rather than water quality. Will put a sponge on the bottom of the SLO and maybe put the tilapia fingerlings in there not sure yet, but till fish come seaweed extract once a week will keep the plants and bacteria going.

Baby tilapia do look well and bigger, feeding happily and aggressively, I think their feed has already increased as they eat more and faster now.

But, on the original note, *frack*.

Mother *frack*.

Epilogue: If you were offended by the sentiments or language expressed above note that you had been warned before the diatribe started.

Thats bad luck Abdul.....hope you get back on track soon.
Maybe the positive side is you could write a stage drama based on the events.....has all the ingredients for a play, death by poisoning or was it suicide, neglect (sorry Abdul..lol), intrigue, bad language, new babies, despair.....need I go on......
