Actually, I have a query for anyone that knows something about solenoids?
Can you get one that will turn off a pump once the water gets below a certain point? Am thinking of putting one in if I can find them to add to the system security and cant really use a float in this area. Thanks

Had a bit of a setback the other day - put up the solarweave roof which is 8m by 13m, then put the hose on it and watched the water pool on the roof about 1/3 down from the highest point - all along the length - and realised where it had been plastic welded together had been just slightly shrunk leaving a sag either side of it that was a big concern. :upset:

So a heap of cash later we had bought another 8 crossbeams (2x4 RHS steel beams) to lift the solarweave and help it run - a big unforseen cost which set us back 2 days and bit the wallet, but its solved the problem which was the main thing. besides if thats the worst thing that happens we will be doing well I reckon!

The drainage pipework has begun to be laid and we will be trying to get as much done tomorrow as we can.

I will try and take pics if I have time to post tomorrow.

Picked up more stuff today - and started cleaning out the IBC GBs. Had a big old diesel hot water spitwater here so started using that until it blew a hole in the side of the wand, back into town to be told that you cant get that part - need to buy the whole gun/wand/nozzle for about $270 bucks and might not get it till monday. After scrubbing the first 6 by hand and knowing there is another 47 to go, I think we will wait for the replacement parts. :(

Bought our first 7 yabbies today from a Live Bait guy down the road for 50c ea - only 7 because thats all that was left, but we still think theyre pretty cool! Yay our first AP livestock!! Will take a photo of them tomorrow just cause I can :D .

8 more yabby tanks to go, plus rest of GBs, then pipework - have to see how far we get by Sunday. Then we had better start thinking about what pays the bills for a while. :?

More pics...

Scrap that. I am putting a float in. Bought a float switch yesterday for about $90 to put in sump. Am starting to worry about the amount of stuff thats going to be in my 1 x IBC Sump - Pump, Float Valve for water cut off from growbeds so sump wont overflow if FT to GB pump cuts out, Float switch so that pump wont run dry, and would like some shellgrit in there somewhere too! (Especially considering i picked up about half a pallet of the stuff at the auction where I got the IBCs - would really like to use it if I can!)

Thanks Gnash :)
Got until Sunday to get as much done as we can as my brother-in-law has apricots to havest which hubby is helping with, as well as a heap of tractor work to catch up on for me! So until we are finished all that we might only have a day or so a week to finish. Getting close though huh :D

Thanks Rupe - just got your message BTW. Thanks for that and hope your feeling better :)

How much would you add to the growbeds if each is 450-500L? Is there a formula you would follow or just dump in a bit and see how it goes?
