Are you human?: Some times I wonder
Location: Arkansas USA
I thought I would try to wright up my new system if this is the place to do it. I tried to start with the pictures I took to make an album but I am not sure what I did. The pictures are from last to first in the slide show. Hope to be able to get them arranged properly. I put in a description under each photo so they tell my story.
I am new at AP so this is also an experiment for me.
I purchased a 1100 gallon stock tank for my Fish Tank. I am going to use 24 plastic barrels split in half for 48 Grow Beds. I plan to have two banks of beds and use an indexing valve to control the water to the beds. I have some of it built and running with fish and plants. My picture are too big so I will have to fix them and reload them so you can see.

HI Faye,
I read about half of your system thread. You have a nice system setup. I like it and the food your producing looks great. I'm jealous.
I'm having a time figuring out how to use this forum. I'm a noob at this also. I apparently will have to remove all my photos and shrink them so I can post them. I put some in as an album I think. Then I could not post them when I started the thread. I should have the pics back later.

I see by the other replys that the pics need to be 800 x 600 or is it 800 x 800?
Don

Rmcpb Hope I spelled that right. My wife has been doing Aquariums for a long time and i helped a little but not too much. At one time she was working for Pet Land in Houston Tx and we had a few aquariums in the house, 47 was the most at one time. The biggest one was 200 gallons. So she knows about fish more than me.
I had built a pipe system a couple of years ago. A 55 gallon barrel and 70 foot of 4" pipes. An ace hardware cheap pump. A simple autosiphon to return to the tank. The pipes have 76 2 3/4" holes for 9 oz Styrofoam cups with 5 holes in the bottom. It is setting on concrete blocks so it is not on the ground. It now has strawberries in it. More about that later.
I will try to keep up with the forum thread as I progress.

Hi Gnash06
I have read some of the threads and noticed that the signature of yours is cool. Thanks for replying to my thread. I hope to get some good going soon. I have converted about half of my photos to
800 x 800 and hope I don't have to do it over again.

I also have a blog which I put the photos on but they are large photos.
Don

This is another test of the picture size. Stock Tank for a Fish Tank. 1100 gallons big. it is 10 feet diameter and 28 inches deep. Here it is just off the trailer and it is upside down. Cant wait to get started.

Success the picture made it. Here is the second picture. I used the tractor to dig a hole for the tank.

Hey Don. Looks like a nice sized tank. Dug the hole the easy way, eh? That's what I use as well.
Resizing pics - try this thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=107&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
Good luck. Keep posting.

When I got the hole dug and leveled out it was filling with water as the water table is very shallow here. That day it was about 12 inches from the ground level. I put the pump from my old system in the river and started pumping the tank full of river water. There is fish in it so should get a good start from that water I thought.
I filled in around the tank and used the excess to level out the ground around the garden area.
