Hi All

Was wondering, I have been running an AP system for 2 1/2 years now

I can never seem to get my lettuce to head it constantly strings out and then eventually starts flowering

What would cause lettuce not to form a head, but just keep having a long stem with copious leaves large and small ?

Thanks in advance

Not much of an expert but heat is said to make lettuce bolt to seed. What kind of temps do you experience? I imagine that in hot climate lettuce would want to be planted in at least partial shade.

Although lanky growth an long stems also results from lack of light... so it really depends on what conditions they are facing

Yep, heat is often a major factor, perhaps try some different varieties.
