It's amazing how well the glass thermometers can hide when you have floating plants and they have a bit of algae growing on them.

Or when the trout are hungry and spot the red bit on the bottom....

Hi
Is there a thermometer that can save temps for a few days so I can check and see over a period of days what my tank temps are doing night and day

Cheers
Bill

billa14,

I'd expect there to be some in the more expensive aquarium thermometer market, but a quick
search didn't find them as easily as I would have thought. I think most data loggers that I've seen
folks mention on these forums are simple little computers (like Raspberry Pi or Arduinos) that log
the data and oftentimes much, much more.

Here's one cool device that perhaps would fit the ticket:

Monitor your world from your smartphone with these tiny wireless sensors

Here's an example of doing this with a relatively inexpensive Raspberry Pi:

Raspberry Pi Temperature Data Recorder

I've got all the stuff laying around to do this project and someday will be able to report on its success.

temperature is not too bad as accuracy is pretty reasonable even for cheapies.
If you are happy to take a punt on a cheapie search "Temperature Data Logger" in eBay.
You want one with a probe on a cable and should be able to get one that records and also max/min.
A few there from China/Hong Kong.

I use a Corintech temperature data logger which connects to my house wifi, and uploads to the cloud every hour. I can view it on my computer or my phone with the app. I've posted graphs on my system pages using the data combined with my weather station data.
