Today, here; they really do not care what it means. And their meaning changes for most who are getting brain washed by media in this country. I have no clue what it means in your area, but here, Liberals are not Liberators any more, and are not willing to pay the price.

And those things are not bullocks here. Do you know that New York City mayor Bloomberg wants to stop the sale of any sugary drink that is bigger than 16 ounces? But selling 12 ounce is okay. So, what stops a person to buy two of them.
His reason is that, there are too many fat people. Oh my God! what an idiot. And These people call themselves Liberals here. Also, he wants to stop usage of salt shakers in resturants. I guess they are going to bodysearch people who go to resturants, so they do not carry their own salt shakers.
In majority of cases, fat people are fat because they eat too much, and sit in front of TV and do not do anything that requires walk or work.
So, what does the Liberals mean to you?

Can we start a new thread about politics instead of hijacking this one where we're supposed to be bitching about aqua-shysters?

If you asked about why they are trying to limit the sizes of sugary drinks, they will tell you it is because the state has huge health costs that need to be reduced, and a lot of costs come from folks with diabetes from living in urban food deserts where the easiest and cheapest food around is sugary processed crap. Maybe AP can help more people grow their own food, even in urban settings?

There, we're back on track...

We are all advocates for the ideas we've been infected with.

Let's keep this about F&F's topic, please.

If Joel wants to start a political debate forum I'm sure he'll let us know.

My thinking lately is that no one can be changed from their opinions about these things, so it gets to be a waste of time to spout off talking points from the RNC or DNC and expect to somehow bring people over to the opposite opinions. In the context of this particular forum all it will do is piss off what 50% of the users, maybe all the international ones who don't give a toss about USA politics.

I unsubscribed from one of my school mates' Facebook posts because he posted things regularly that were seemingly intended to piss people off. It's not a good practice.

Obama 2012 baby

Wait, what was this thread about?
Oh... Shiester!!!

I'm starting to see this over here more and more now and know there are a couple of pending lawsuits against people mis representing themselves and designing large scale operations that don't work.

Couple of suggestions to any shiesters reading this...
If you can't calculate friction losses?? Don't design past the backyard!
If you can't calculate water velocities?? Don't design past the backyard!
If you can't determine TAN concentrations?? Don't design past the backyard!
If you can't calculate oxygen requirements?? Don't design past the backyard!
If you can't explain to someone why a circular tank is better than a square? Don't design past the backyard!

There are several questions I would ask someone before even giving them a second thought as a commercial designer or teacher. Some stuff you can't fake.

Indeed Ryan... and I'm not surprised that there might be pending legal action....

There's just so much hype and bullshit floating around at the moment... especially with regards to "commercial" aquaponics...

You would think a lot of the courses may look at disclaimers to try and protect themselves against legal action

Freedom only tends to be appreciated widely within a country when it is absent. It is one of the ironies of living in a democracy that we are so free that we do not have a real appreciation of how good we have it.

What a load of bullocks... you obviously don't understand what it really is...to be either a conservative... or a liberal...

The meanings of the words are opposite in American politics.

No the true meanings of the words.. are what they are...

The politics may well have twisted them to represent something that they never were.. and aren't.... but that just goes to prove the point...

Sadly, particularly over the last decade or two... the public interpretation has become acceptance of the political bullocks....

Which probably explains why politics... and the average voters... hold the distorted and polarised viewpoints that are current... and both baseless... and mind numbingly shallow...

I don't know about US law but under Australian law it would be unlikely to help them very much. In Australia you cannot sign away a whole set of basic rights (that is why waivers for excursions or bungee jumping, etc. are more to get you thinking about what you are about to do rather than providing any legal protection to the operators). There are a number of acts that protect people from dodgy operators the problem is they tend to only come into effect after someone has been taken for a ride. If the authorities can get hold of the individual then they can prosecute but almost invariably by the time this has happened any funds that were handed over have been spent and are long gone.

The hydroponics industry went through the same phase. If you think what is happening right now is dodgy just wait until commercial systems are actually being built by good designers and consultants. Once that starts to happen there will be a host of dodgy operators tagging along that will successfully con large amounts of money out of quite a few people. The AP industry will take off and after a while of very fast growth it will crash before going on to grow like the hydroponics industry is now growing. The good producers, designers, consultants will survive to grow the industry the shiesters will disappear in time.
