Mantis, tell us more about your celeriac growing. My wife has put in a request for me to grow it but I have no experience with it.

Just threw seeds in a clay ball bed and they all sprouted. Have transplanted a lot of them around the systems and all are growing great so far

Celery is pretty slow growing. When you get one from the shop, cut the base off and remove some of the outer bits and plant in the garden. They grow into a new plant.

I like supermarket celery, its always ready to go if my garden is not. And if i get a free plant with every bunch then its a plus.

What's the reason for wrapping something around the base (Blanching?)

To contain them to a reasonable size, otherwise they spread over a large area.

Hello, I am considering growing celery.

would love to hear from you what worked and what didn't.

if you could specify your:
- environmental conditions (climate zone, season, indoor, greenhouse etc)
- aquaponics setup (type of media, fish stock and food)
- species of celery planted.

thanks a lot!
