Dear everyone

I wonder how we can check if the water supplied from a fish tank to a grow bed
has got enough nutrients such as Potassium and Phosphate.

I think the required amount of those will depend on the kinds of vegetables you grow, but
anybody is measuring those nutrients by using any tools?

If so, any recommended tools?

Thank you for your comments in advance.

Takashi

I don't know how to measure the concentrations of water soluble nutrients but what I do is to use a TDS refractometer with 0 to 32 scale and measure the sap (plant juice) or fruit juice. I compare the results with charts on internet

The higher the better.

And then I look into increasing the brix using rock dust, water soluble calcium phosphate, compost tea, home made liquid fish fertilizer etc.

For an explanation what brix is have a look at this PDF
