We got to lake Lonsdale this morning and it was as choppy as. But we toughed it out and got the 20 drop nets in with the little electric outboard working hard against the wind and chop. Nice haul........ ![]() So tell me, as someone who obviously gets a few yabbies, do you crack and eat the claws? It always seems a bit of a waste to only eat the tails, but we never get that many over here, unless you know someone.. We only have marron in most areas and the season is now down to about 5 weeks a year. |

Bloody oath I crack the claws and even the small ones. It drives me spare to see the remains of blokes having camped at the lake and cooked some yabbies, and the full claws laying around. They should be booted up the rear. I use chicken wings as bait and have for 30 years. Cheap and easy and not smelly and they dont get torn up like bullucks liver etc. |

When boiling yabbies do you use plain water? For crawfish we add spices or "crab boil" just curious. |
