well all but over, Faye and Eddy got away a couple of hours ago, busy weekend, by the donations in the Festival money tin I would estimate at least 200 people through for the weekend with a couple of dozen more after Faye left, I feel a lot of genuine interest as well, quite a few for the discussions and a few constructive questions and inquiries, thanks to Faye and Eddy for coming down sorry we didn't have more tourist time, although by the pictures posted so far it doesn't look like we did much work at all  we did Joel honest  Thanks to my offspring Mathew and Emily and em's boyfriend Jarrad for cooking the BBQ and helping cleanup over the last couple of weeks, beer o'clock is going to be slightly earlier today  :drunken:

Thank you Nocky & Teresa for opening your home to us over the weekend. And well done Faye, the talk was enjoyable as always and a few more pointers picked up along the way.
Pity I couldn't stay for the BBQ, looks like it would have been a very good night.
It was good to meet other enthusiasts on the day and other potential addicts!
keep smiling!!!

Yeah thanks Nocky and Teresa for all the hospitality shown.
I would especially like to thank Rick and Di for letting us crash at there place (in an actual bed, abit better than setting up the swag :) ) and for showing us around in the morning and trying to feed us breakfast as well :D
You guys rock
Oh and Faye. Thanks for the informative talk and the lesson on how to sex yabbies and peel them (altho don't think that skill will come in handy for me, can't stand the smell).
Was a really good day all round. Hopefully next time i'll get down there a little earlier and be able to see more of the town and more of the festivities :) No wave rock first next time

Oh and for those that wanted the recipe for the cheesecake, here it is
Attachment:

White Chocolate and Berry Cheesecake

Ingredients (serves 10)
12 Cottage Cookies White Choc & Macadamia biscuits
300g frozen mixed berries
2 tablespoons boiling water
3 1/3 teaspoons powdered gelatine
180g white chocolate, chopped
2 x 250g blocks Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
1/3 cup caster sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
185ml can light evaporated milk
Method
Line base and sides of a 6cm-deep, 22cm round springform pan with baking paper (i've found that i prefer using a smaller pan, the biscuits don't quite fit as nicely, but you can taste the chocolate cheesecake better. But experiment :) ). Arrange biscuits, in a single layer, over base of pan. Top with half the berries. Place boiling water in a small, heatproof jug. Sprinkle over gelatine. Using a fork, whisk until gelatine has dissolved.
Place chocolate in a heatproof, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave, uncovered, on high (100%) for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, or until melted and smooth. Set aside.
Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Gradually beat in evaporated milk, chocolate and gelatine mixture. Pour cream cheese mixture into pan. Scatter with remaining berries. Cover and refrigerate overnight or until set.

Enjoy, and experiment with it. Cheesecakes are really easy and once you've found a good base recipe then they're easy to change around and experiment with and find one you really like.

Jono

Well I have to tell you that the Jono cheesecake is well worth a try and it looked better than the recipe picture shows. What an effort, I must say that I would have chosen to get some sleep at 2am rather than make a cheesecake but glad you made the right decision Jono. That cheesecake will certainly get you an invite to the next event.

Thanks Teresa and Paul for arranging the excellent weather, accomodation, menu, itinerary and for keeping us entertained over the weekend. Hope the Nocky pod takes off, we did our best. The toys in Narrogin are fun and that 1/2 million dollar tractor has a better turning circle than my old Magna. I bet it would pull out a stump quicker too.
Next time may we request chilli mussels   Though the yabbies were yummy and so was the bbq, thanks to all the cooks. It was a good weekend and great to see the forum membgrs who called in to say hi.

Thanks faye, I must have said a thousand times over the weekend that we hardly ever have power problems in Narrogin  well Mr Murphy struck again, power out over most of the district yesterday  after 2 hours (about 4pm) daughter phoned WP and they said ETA back on at 8pm, so rushed madly hooking up inverter etc plugged into the ute engine running, rushed back to work by 4.20pm sat at desk looking at blank screen and 421pm power back on :| but at least we know I can change things in a few minutes, and the OTTO back up worked fine until I turned up with inverter

Memories of the magnificent cheesecake were just rekindled after a character looking very much like Jono was spotted in the BYAP shop. It has been two years since we have heard from or seen him, good to see the AP is still going strong Jono, if that was you :wave1:
